About a Boy Quote

"It happens, and I wish it didn't, but that's life, isn't it?"

I chose this quote because when I read it, I felt like it spoke to me. I think this is exactly what life is. Sometimes things happen and we are grateful, other times we are not so grateful. But whatever happens, we have to accept it. There is no way of changing the past regardless of if we want to or not. For example, I wish that I never lost any of my friends. Unfortunately, I cannot change that this happened. That is life. We accept what has happened and we move on. When I make friends with an old enemy, I am glad that it has happened and I cannot go back and change that. I accept the new reality. If I so please, I can try to reconnect with the old friend or I can try to make my new friend an enemy again. But this does not change the past, it is only changing the present. We must accept life, we do not really have a choice. Some things we can change for the present and the future, but the past cannot be altered. You cannot pretend you did not lose that friend for a period of time. You cannot change the fact that that this renewed enemy was once your friend. There are people in my life, maybe out of my life, that I wish had treated me differently. People that ignored my messages, people that made me feel used or worthless. I can choose to keep them out of my life now-- that is one of my choices now. However, I cannot go back and pretend they were never in my life. I cannot change the fact that I trusted them, change the fact that they hurt me. "It happens, and I wish it didn't, but that's life, isn't it?"

"Just Sit Down."

The red circle is where I was sitting!
*sitting on a bench in the west front entrance of the school*

Sitting on this bench in front of the school makes me feel nostalgic. It makes me think of how long I have gone to Kickapoo, and how different my life is now than it was when I first walked through these doors. From this spot I can see the spot I used to be dropped off at in the mornings. Where my dad would pick me up for orthodontist appointments sometimes. I see the parking spot of the drivers ed car, the first car I ever really drove. The front entrance of the school is to my left. I think about all the times I have walked through those doors. Sometimes I was sad, sometimes I was happy. This is the exact spot I was sitting on the last day of school a few years ago. The last student to leave the school. I have been here, in front of the school, in many types of weather. Sunny and hot, rainy, humid, snowy-- you name it. Today it is brisk outside. I enjoy it. The sky is gray with a little bit of pale blue peaking behind it. My favorite weather.

If...

13. If you had to name the most difficult thing about being a teenager today, what would you say?
It is hard to be a teenager because everyone expects you to act like an adult, but nobody wants to treat you like one.

16. If you could go back to one place in your life, where would you go?
I would go back to Saturday, November 30th, because my family was all together (unfortunately, excluding my little brother Patrick due to the fact that he had to go to work. :( ) in Branson. We were all getting along that day and had a lot of fun playing games and doing activities together. We decorated cookies, played Pacman, had Ping-Pong wars, Bingo, and even sang karaoke. We were not fighting, and even my mom was playing games and participating along with us. This does not happen very often, so it was a nice treat. I have to say this is one of my happiest memories in my life.

Lists of 12 on 12/2

12 Places I Want to Go and 2 People I Want to Take

1. Hawaii: I would take my godmother Wendy because she would be up to do fun things with me, but she would also force me to do or try things out of my comfort level. I would experience more if she was there. I would also take my friend Kailee because she would be fun to have around when hanging out on the beach or shopping.

2. Paris: I would take my friend Ronald with me. I say this because he knows some french, and he would be able to appreciate the museums and architecture as much as I would. I would also take my mother because she likes to learn and appreciate things like museums too, so I think she would enjoy going.

3. Venice: I want to go see Venice with Kailee because she and I have always had a dream of going there together and enjoying the boat rides and Italian food. If it were possible, I also would not mind taking Nancy Drew. She is always prepared and will surely always have an Italian-to-English dictionary.

4. Ireland: I would like to take my best friend Olivia with me to Ireland because I know her and I could have fun inside on a rainy day, and also because I know she would be up for exploring and learning when I wanted to. She would be fun to travel with. I also would take my brother Patrick, because he and I could have a fun time going to see castles and just enjoying the outdoors.

5. New York City: I would take Ronald and my sister Noelle with me to New York City. I say this, because Ronald knows the city and could show me around and tell me where all the best places to go are. I would take my sister Noelle with me because she would enjoy the shoppig and the city as much as I do.

6. Washington D.C.:  I have been here before, but I would go again with my my mom and step-dad. My step-dad is a political science professor, and he would do a good job at being a "personal tour guide." (As my mom put it when they went to D.C. for their honeymoon. :P) I would take my mother because like I said, she enjoys learning and museums as much as I do.

7. Hollywood: I would take my dad with me to Hollywood because he loves movies as much as I do, and it would be fun to see where some of our favorites were filmed and to learn more about film in general. I would also take my mom because she would enjoy taking tours with me and learning about them too.

8. Mexico: If I were to go to Mexico, I would have liked to take the young version of my black-grandma with me. She lived there, so she would be able to show me around and I could get a feel for Mexico in a non-touristy way. Also, I would like to take my brother. He would make a good body guard.

9. London: I would like to take Naomi and Kailee with me because Kailee has always wanted to go to England, and her and I would have fun talking to all the cute English boys. I would take Naomi because she has been before and could take us to all the places worth seeing.

10. The Gulf: I want to go back to the beach on the Gulf of Mexico. If I went back, I would like to take my mom and my dad's girlfriend, Amanda. I would take my mom because when we went to Perdido Key this summer she seemed to actually relax and enjoy watching the ocean. It made her happy. And I would take Amanda because she never gets a chance to relax. I think she would enjoy relaxing in the sand and playing in the water and shell searching with me.

11. Mall of America: I would love to go to the Mall of America with my sister and Jennifer Lawrence. I would take my sister because she is generally pretty good at telling me when I buy something ugly. Also, I would take Jennifer Lawrence because she could buy me things. And she is just about the coolest celebrity there is, in my opinion, and I think we would get along.

12. Hogwarts: I would take my BEST friend Trevor and Mrs. Bernskoetter with me because I know that they would enjoy the castle and witches and wizards as much as I would. Plus, we all know a little bit of spells and with our combined knowledge we will be on Professor McGonagall's good list.
